Night Shift
My mom worked nights for two years and I got used to the house being awake at the wrong times. This series came out of that — riding along on the drive to her shift and photographing whatever was still lit on the way.
Everything here was made between ten at night and two in the morning, mostly along one stretch of road. I was interested in how much light gets left on for nobody. A forecourt at midnight is as bright as an operating room and there is no one in it.
Made 2025. Digital, available light, no flash.
